Each season ArmDiving organizes diving trips along Sevan with a single aim of cleaning the bottom of the lake from tires, bottles, old fishnets and other garbage that pollute our lake.
Our divers collect tons of garbage from the bottom of Sevan in the form of plastic and abandoned fishing nets, recycle them and turn into various items (jewelry, key chains, etc.) and then sell them. Proceeds go toward expanding the program and removing more waste from our beloved lake.
ArmDiving realizes multiple projects by collaborating with Scientific Organizations (Sevan National Park, Ichthyology Institute, Geology Institute, etc) to provide needed data from the Lake Sevan bottom for various researches.
In 2021, with the help of UNDP in Armenia and GEF Small Grants Programmes, ArmDiving acquired special devices for discovering, removing and processing underwater lost nets.
One of ArmDiving missions is to make our ecosystem better for everyone, and we value the role of education of the younger generations. During seminars we tell children about diving, demonstrate diving equipment, teach about the environmental issues the world is facing and show some videos taken during the ArmDiving tours.
Every year we organize diving trips to different countries with interesting dive locations. Usually we try to choose those countries, which are somehow related to Armenia. We call this project <<Tsovic Tsov Hayastan>>.
This is probably one of the most exciting and loved project we have in our club.
